Fractional laser treatment

Gradually, as the skin of your face, your neck, your hands ages appear multiple pigmented spots, wrinkles and fine lines. Some wrinkles and fine lines can be treated by injections (Botox, hyaluronic acid), but not all. In particular the lower eyelid wrinkles, deep wrinkles around the mouth, and very wrinkled skin can not be corrected by injections. The pigmented spots do not disappear easily, even treated daily by appropriate creams.

Fortunately, there is now a very effective and very safe: the CO2 Laser "split". Unlike lasers used before, which either had limited effectiveness, or were very effective but with major side effects, the CO2 laser "split" significantly improves the skin without risk of scarring, hyper pigmentation or hypo pigmentation. The healing period is short (4 to 5 days) and is followed by a period of  2 to 3 weeks during which a moderate redness, easily camouflaged by makeup simple,  you will live quite normal.

How does fractional CO2 laser?

The radiation causes a CO2 laser removal of surface layers, damaged, skin and a thermal effect in the deeper part of the skin. It is this profound effect that will result in the production of new collagen and restore the skin under tension. Thus, the regenerated skin is really deep and seems smoother, younger. The pigmented spots "old age" also disappear. The fact that radiation is "split", that is to say divided into multiple beams of very fine, strongly accelerates healing puisqu'autour each "point" treaty remains an area of healthy skin from which the healing takes a few days.

How is it treated?

An hour before the actual treatment, photographs of the area to be treated (face, neck, décolleté, hands) are taken. Then a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 45 minutes. This ointment causes numbness of the skin so that the treatment is entirely or almost painless (a sensation of warmth similar to sunburn appears within minutes after treatment). The treated skin appears dotted with small white dots or gray are the entry points of the laser beam. These dots are "peel" is to say, "peel" during the 3 or 4 days. A healing ointment and disinfectant must be applied on the skin for 2 or 3 days, followed by a moisturizing cream for another week or two, after which you can resume your normal skin care cream. The makeup is allowed at the 4th or 5th day.

Precautions

Sun exposure should be avoided for at least one month before and two months after laser treatment. Otherwise, there is a risk of pigmentation (hypo-or hyper pigmentation), that is to say, stains lighter or darker level  treated areas.

If you are subject (you) to herpes infections ( "cold sores"), you should consult your doctor. A preventive treatment will be required before treatment. Similarly, if you suffer from acne, antibiotics will be prescribed in advance.

What are the outcomes?

Stains "old age" and superficial wrinkles are significantly reduced during the first days after treatment. The production of collagen, which continues for two months, giving a further gradual improvement over the following weeks. The wrinkles are  much improved but it may happen that a second treatment is required based on the importance of these wrinkles. The complexion is more uniform and the skin appears firmer, "tightened".

Limits of art

If sagging skin and excess skin large, surgery is of course necessary. It can also be combined with laser treatment to act, both on the shape of the face (jowls, double chin, ...) and quality of the skin (spots, wrinkles) for a result optimal. It is also possible, depending on the case, to combine different doses (No botox, hyaluronic acid) and the laser. Your doctor will tell you, depending on your skin, what is the best treatment plan to consider in your particular case.

  1. Great information. I am so excited with the result of the fraxel. I had this procedure in conjunction with fillers and it has transformed my face! I look a decade younger and my skin is so smooth. It does heart but it is pain that is bearable and is quickly forgotten.
